American Film Market [The Sequel]
For the second year in a row, Eric and I went down to Santa Monica to briefly attend the AFM. Unlike last year, however, when we attended with an unfinished product, we went to this year's market with a solid, finished movie. In addition to that, we were represented this time around!
The response that we gathered from the market was extremely positive. Right from the start, our poster and teaser trailer attracted a lot of attention from several territories. We had prepared A TON of DVD screeners and buyers snatched them up to get a look of the film!
Things look great for international sales and a release for 2007 seems very likely.
2006 Festival of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror and the Supernatural
ISOLATED is set to make its first festival appearance at this year's 2006 Festival of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror and the Supernatural! As an added bonus for us, the festival will be held in Las Vegas at the Plaza Hotel & Casino.
At the moment, the screening schedule has not been set, so we're not sure which day we will be showing. However, the festival runs from October 12-15, so if you're able to, we would love to see you there. We'll update with more specifics as soon as it is available. I've also provided links below for festival information.
Thank you
Eric and I would like to thank everyone that came out to the screening and lent your support. In short, it was a great time and a lot of fun. Hopefully this won't be last time it will be seen. We've submitted to several festivals and hope to hear from a couple very soon.
Now that some time has passed, we would love to hear any additional feedback we might have missed that evening. Don't be shy, we've got pretty thick skin.
And a very special thanks to those of you who donated to the Candlelighters. Through your generosity, we were able to donate just under $930!
Movie Screening

A thank you to cast, crew, friends, family & all the others who offered support along the way.
Superman (music) Returns

Coming soon ... the Man of SteelIs anyone else excited to see Superman Returns?
The PR machine is definitely in high gear for it right now. One of the many things I look forward to in this movie, as I watch all the promos, is the score. I'm really happy they decided to keep John Williams' original score from the 1978 movie. While it's one of my favorites, after listening to John Ottman's rendition, it just holds up really well even after 25+ years.
Music really is another character and the proper use of it (or non-use) can really put a movie on a whole other level. Of course on the flip side, it can also turn a movie into a cheap sounding adult film. So, with that said, I think we landed somewhere closer to the former.
We have a great score and soundtrack from our composer, Charles David Denler. I don't think Eric would object too much if I mentioned that we're probably weakest in the musical department. And by that, I merely mean we don't necessarily hear the soundtrack we want. We know what we like and we know how we want the music "to be" but that's about it. Therefore, Charlie was a perfect fit for us. He was able to create audibly all those elements Eric was looking for and much more. The score is incredibly moody and layered.
One of the more memorable moments for me personally was when I was first able to hear the score with picture. Thanks Charlie.
